Speak Out Against The Rising Cost Of Gas Prices
Xcel Energy is asking for another gas rate increase—about $7 more each month—on top of hikes already approved in recent years. The Public Utilities Commission is deciding now, and they need to hear from the people most impacted.
Public hearings start April 27. Join us to share your story about affordability and the kind of energy future Minnesota deserves. You can attend in person or online, and we’ll support you every step of the way.
Sign up to get connected, whether that means speaking at a hearing, joining a prep session, or sharing your story another way.

The Future We Deserve: Stable Heating and Cooling
The City of St. Paul is planning for a cleaner future by developing a citywide plan to move away from gas heating and toward stable, renewable thermal energy. Unidos MN is proud to support this work, which can help St. Paul reach its goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2050 and serve as a model for other cities.
Thermal Energy Networks (TENs) use underground pipes to share heat between buildings. Instead of burning gas, these systems use the stable temperature of the ground and other nearby sources to help heat buildings in the winter and cool them in the summer.
St. Paul already has examples of this technology at The Heights, Como Zoo, and the Pipefitters Local 455 Training Center, with other sites like Carondelet Village using similar systems for years.
Unidos MN is organizing with local leaders to expand access to this clean, reliable energy across the city.

Healthy Homes & Power of Home
A few years ago, Unidos MN members organized to successfully push the City of St. Paul to create and fund two programs that help expand access to clean energy upgrades for families who need it most.
The Healthy Homes and Power of Home programs help low-income homeowners weatherize their homes and upgrade gas appliances to more efficient options. These improvements can lower energy use, improve comfort, and help families manage rising utility costs.
This was an important first step. Unidos MN leaders will continue organizing to make sure these programs stay funded and reach the families most impacted by fossil fuels.

Who We Are
At Unidos MN, leaders in St. Paul are organizing to bring equitable and sustainable climate solutions to our neighbors and communities. We love St. Paul, and we know bold, meaningful action is needed to protect our environment and build a city where future generations can thrive.
Our goal is to help all St. Paul neighborhoods transition away from gas and toward using cleaner, more sustainable energy that benefits everyone. Unidos MN leaders are working to ensure every family can live in a home with clean air, safe energy, and affordable utilities. That means raising awareness about indoor air pollution, expanding access to healthier technologies, and organizing for policies that put community health first.
Together, we can build homes, and a city, that support the health of everyone who lives here.
