Take Action Against Rising Xcel Energy Rates

Xcel Energy wants to raise our gas rates yet again by about 8.7%, which means we would pay an added $7 on our monthly bill, so more money can go directly to investors’ pockets.

The rising costs make it harder for working families to get by.

Does that seem fair to you?

Sample script to be emailed or shared in person:

“My name is [insert name] and I’m speaking against this increase because it puts more pressure on working families across our communities.

We’re already balancing rent, groceries, and other bills. We need decisions that protect people, not raise costs.

Utility service is a basic need, and it should stay affordable. I’m asking you not to increase our rates.”

Take Action NOW

The Minnesota public utilities commission is hosting hearings throughout the metro and greater Minnesota to hear from customers who are against the raise.

Hearings started April 27 and the deadline to take action is May 19.

We’re showing up to ensure every family, no matter their background or zip code, has access to affordable and stable energy.

Community members interested in submitting their comment can do so in person or online.
