The Work Ahead…
We have already seen what is possible when communities organize.
After hundreds of Minneapolis residents spoke out about a proposed data center at the former Star Tribune printing plant, the developer backed out of the project. Neighbors came together, raised concerns about energy use, water, pollution, noise, and the impact on surrounding communities, and made their voices impossible to ignore.
But this is bigger than one project.
More data centers could be proposed in Minneapolis and across Minnesota, and communities should not have to fight each project one at a time. We have an opportunity to set clear rules before development happens.
We’re bringing residents together to build the protections we need: strong clean energy standards, clear limits on resource use, meaningful community benefits, and a real voice for the people who will live with the impacts.
We showed that organized communities can shape what happens in our neighborhoods. Now we are building on that momentum to help create local and statewide standards that make sure future development works for our communities and our clean energy future.
Our Vision
Data centers are expanding across Minnesota, bringing major demands on our energy, water, and communities. Without clear rules, that growth can drive up costs, strain resources, and make it harder to build the clean energy future our communities need.
But we do not have to accept unchecked development.
Our Power. Our Future. is about bringing communities together to shape how data centers operate in Minnesota. We are organizing for clear regulations, strong limits, and protections that put people, affordability, and our clean energy future first.
As local and statewide decisions about data centers move forward, communities deserve a real voice in setting the rules.
