Data and Technology Coordinator
Unidos MN is an immigrant-led, BIPOC-majority, multiracial, statewide organization building power for Minnesotan working families to advance social, racial, and environmental justice. Born out of the immigration justice movement, our work centers immigration reform, democracy, education, healthcare, workers’ rights, and climate justice.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Data & Technology Coordinator supports the day-to-day operation, stability, and usability of Unidos MN’s data and technology systems. This role serves as the frontline technical resource for staff and organizers, ensuring devices, software, and core platforms function reliably across campaigns and programs.
Working within systems and standards designed by the Director of Data & Technology, the Coordinator is responsible for technical operations, troubleshooting, system administration, and applied data support. This includes maintaining hardware and software environments, supporting digital tools used by organizers, and assisting with reporting, data integrity, and routine data workflows.
This role plays a critical part in reducing technical friction, stabilizing workflows, and ensuring organizers have dependable access to the tools and information they need to succeed.
REPORTING & TEAM STRUCTURE
The Data & Technology Coordinator reports to the Director of Data & Technology.
The Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day technical operations, system stability, hardware and software administration, and applied data tasks, escalating systemic, architectural, or integration-level issues to the Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Operations & System Stability
Maintain the reliability and day-to-day functionality of organizational technology systems and tools
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and platform issues across staff devices and operational systems
Support software lifecycle management, including updates, access, licenses, and configurations
Manage hardware and device environments, including laptops, peripherals, and mobile tools
Serve as the first point of response for technical issues and user support needs
Organizer & Staff Support
Provide timely, practical support to staff and organizers using digital and data tools
Assist users in resolving technical challenges related to organizing tools, reporting systems, and workflows
Help ensure organizers can operate tools effectively during live campaigns and events
Identify recurring user challenges and recommend improvements or training needs
Applied Data & Reporting Support
Perform routine data tasks within existing systems and infrastructure
Generate recurring reports, exports, and datasets supporting organizing and operational priorities
Monitor data integrity, identifying inconsistencies or anomalies and resolving or escalating as needed
Support staff requests related to lists, datasets, and system outputs
Assist with data hygiene and quality control practices
Systems Administration & Maintenance
Administer user accounts, permissions, and configurations within approved systems
Maintain documentation related to technical procedures, workflows, and recurring issues
Support implementation of new tools, processes, and system improvements defined by the Director
Assist with diagnosing operational disruptions or system failures
Collaboration & Escalation
Work closely with the Director of Data & Technology to maintain system reliability and performance
Escalate structural, architectural, or integration-level issues appropriately
Collaborate with organizing and communications teams to support operational needs
Translate user challenges into clear technical problem descriptions
Who You Are
You are a dependable, solutions-oriented technical operator who is comfortable troubleshooting systems, supporting users, and working with data in applied, practical ways. You are calm under pressure, able to diagnose problems efficiently, and comfortable navigating fast-moving campaign environments.
You understand that technology exists to enable organizing and operations, and you take pride in helping staff and organizers work effectively without unnecessary technical barriers.
Preferred Experience & Skills
Experience supporting hardware, software, and user environments across multiple systems
Comfort troubleshooting technical issues across devices and platforms
Proficiency working with structured datasets and spreadsheet-based tools
Experience generating reports, dashboards, or data outputs
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
Comfort working in fast-paced, high-variability environments
Experience with SQL, data tools, or organizing platforms is helpful but not required.
HOURS AND COMPENSATION
Salary range: Starting at $65,000 - $75,000, commensurate with experience
Premium Blue Cross Blue Shield Zero Deductible Plan, with 100% premium coverage for employees and 70% premium coverage for dependents—an employer-paid benefit valued up to $22,000 annually.

This is a full-time position with a six-month probation period. Evening and weekend hours are required on a regular basis.
Helpful but Not Required
Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, Somali, Oromo, Hmong, Amharic, Mam, or Quechua
